Getting a bit fed up of the dogs
So, I mean it is pretty clear how I feel in the title but as much as I love these dogs, I am starting to get really fed up with them. If you look at any of my blog posts in the past you can see that I really do love the dogs and they mean a lot to me. I really wish I did a bit more research specifically on Empress Labradors as a dog breed and I really wish that I has asked a few more empress Labradors owners for what I should expect when the dogs get older but now I have learnt a very valuable lesson. I love the dogs and my husband and my kids love the dogs but they are becoming too much. They are shedding their hair everywhere around the house and they are damaging all the furniture within the home too. Too many of my chairs or sofas have been scratched or bitten by the dogs and it has become almost craze inducing when I look at the damage the dogs have done. It is also the damage the dogs have done to the carpet. In fact, when I think about how much damage the dogs have done to the entire house it is really frustrating and aggravating. I really do feel like these dogs know what they are doing too. I don’t know if it is just the anger I have about the dogs and if it is turning into resentment or hatred, but it is started to get ridiculously bad. All I know is that I have become a bit sick of the dogs and I am starting to regret ever really getting them.
The amount that it would cost to replace all of the damages the dogs have done is something on its own and it probably isn’t really worth talking about. Let’s just say that it is definitely much more than I would like to spend on it and if I never got the dogs I wouldn’t really have to be spending this money to begin with quite frankly. But that is life and there is nothing I can really do about it now. I’m trying to decide if I should get my damaged furniture repaired or if I should just replace it because right now the house looks like it has been through a war. Carpet is damaged and stained, there are scratches and tears in any fabric or material that isn’t metal and there are even some scratches on items that are metal. That is just one of the things that is really aggravating about having dogs that outgrow the home.
I should have explained earlier that I actually have a back garden and the dogs for the most part are allowed out there but there are a few worrying things I have noticed. The dogs chase squirrels and other animals that play in the yard, and that is something that I really do not like. I don’t want any animals to be harmed because of the dogs. Another thing that really worries me is the amount that they dig up the yard. They have ruined the flowers in the yard and the grass itself has been absolutely torn up. It’s horrible and keeping them out there is just asking for poor little animals to be hurt. Even little ones that are harmless like birds have been attacked and I think one of the dogs actually killed a bird. I didn’t even know dogs liked chasing birds and I thought that was only cats. But dogs apparently do it too and they just hunt the animals even though it isn’t as if they need the animals for a food source.
If you are reading this blog and thinking of getting some Empress Labradors, I will say to speak to an owner about the potential problems with having these dogs because I cannot lie, they will be really tiresome in the future.
